Custom Iron has remained at the forefront of the spiral staircase industry. Located in Zumbrota, Minnesota in an 80,000+ square foot production facility, we specialize in supplying products to businesses in the stair industry as well as directly to consumers, builders and others across the country. Todd Hanks
Position: Welder/Fabricator
Years worked at CI: 11
Todd brings his experience in many different industries – from being in restaurant service as a cook, spot welding backings for Christmas wreaths and the welding and fabrication of parts – all of which makes him a versatile employee willing to put in the work where needed. At Custom Iron he has grown into one of our best welder/fabricators and primarily fabricates spiral stairs. He finds a lot of joy in his work and appreciates jobs that are challenging and allow him to be creative.
Outside of work Todd enjoys his single life, has no pets and is close with his mother, sister and two nieces. As a Minnesota Vikings fan he really enjoys watching games in addition to playing cards with friends and family as well as fishing whenever he gets a chance.

Jim Yetzer
DESIGN & PROCESS MANAGER
Jim has always been strongly driven by design and creativity. After working on office furniture design for almost 10 years, Jim joined Custom Iron in 2006. He heads up the team working on quotes, drawings, custom design, as well as new product development. He thrives on doing everything he can to ensure our customers find the right products to fit their project, helping them through all the details from start to finish, and making their experience as enjoyable as possible!
When not working, Jim loves spending as much time as possible with his wife and 3 daughters as well as extended family. He enjoys going to a family cabin (maybe even catching a fish once in a while…), hiking, watching sci-fi movies, and listening to music all the time.
Tonya Pukal
OPERATIONS MANAGER
After working in various specialized retail environments and gaining a diverse range of skills, experience and passion for management, customer service, sales, project planning and installation, Tonya joined Custom Iron in 2006. She is currently the Operations Manager responsible for overall management of Financial & Business Systems, Human Resources and Production.
When not working, Tonya enjoys spending quality time with her husband and adult daughters, traveling, concerts and her cats. She is an avid BTS fan, enjoys many different hobbies such as quilting and painting and enjoys movies and k-dramas.
Robert Driscoll
President & CEO
Robert quite literally grew up in the business. His father Terry started the company in 1975 and Robert has officially been with the company since 1989, officially taking over the business at the end of 2021. Robert has worked in a majority of the positions on the shop floor as well as in the office, spending time in each department to have a better understanding of products, processes, and opportunities for improvement while increasing his knowledge.
When not working, Robert enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, watching his nephews play hockey, listening to music and watching movies, working on and driving his classic car, traveling, boating and fishing.
