The new arrival: Custom Iron's Catalog
By now, you should have received the new Custom Iron catalog. (If you haven't received it, please give us a call!) We invite you to page through the tabbed sections and get to know us. You'll find a wealth of information in the different sections, whether you want to know about metal basics (in Paint + Finishes) or shipping and payment information (in Other Info).

This catalog tells our story in many different areas. We've introduced new panels, spiral stairs, and many new balusters that have not been in previous editions.

Our Dream it. Build it.™ service is highlighted in its own section with examples and inspirational designs. Metal details and processes are discussed, as well as options and recommendations in the Paint + Finishes section. We have introduced new spiral stairs as well as highlighted your old favorites in our Spiral Stairs section.

The catalog gives you an idea of price points throughout, and price lists are included after the Other Info section. Also included are CDs that highlight our spiral stair and our panel installation processes. And the whole catalog is available in PDF files on the third CD.

We appreciate any feedback you want to give us. Hope to hear from you soon.

Save time, cut costs, make money: Our Revolutionary Top Bar Panels
Simplify installation of any combination of balusters. Easily attach your handrail to a top bar, instead of drilling holes in the handrail to install a group of balusters.

With the addition of a top bar, a selection of balusters becomes a panel. Installation time is significantly reduced – sometimes by more than half. In a 4-foot section of balustrade, instead of drilling 24 holes for 12 balusters, you could be drilling 2 holes at the bottom and popping in a few rivets to the metal handrail at the top. Alternatively, with a flat top bar, you can screw the panels directly into your wood handrail. Complete installation instructions and templates are provided.

You can easily design either level or incline Top Bar Panels from your selection of balusters. Select an arrangement of balusters. Contact the Custom Iron sales staff and ask them to “Top Bar” those balusters for your stairway or balcony rail specifications.

Creative Metal Showcase
Creative Metal Showcase
We want to showcase YOUR creative metal. If we have provided metal balusters or panels for a stair you're particularly proud of, send us a picture and we'll feature it in an upcoming Custom Iron Connection. If we made a spiral or curving stair and it looks fabulous in your setting, send us a picture of it! You'll get credit for the stair, some “press” and a chance to showcase what you do. We want our customers to be successful. Let us show what Custom Iron and you can do together. Send digital pictures to jq@customiron.com . Send prints to Julie Quinn, Custom Iron, 400 1st Street East, Zumbrota, MN 55992.

Installation Made Easy – the videos

Our spiral stairs are shipped with easy-to-follow installation instructions with every stair. You may also download these instructions and print them on your printer.

The folks at Hometime chose Custom Iron to create a spiral stair and some deck rail for an exterior installation they were doing for one of their episodes. The installation video is available in the back of your Custom Iron catalog on CD.

Also included on CD is the installation of two panel and baluster projects for Michael Holigan's Your New House. These projects include the Top Bar Panel as well as a traditional version. Check out the CD in the back of your catalog.

Dream it. Build it. (try it before you buy it)
Dream It. Build It.

Custom Iron's Dream It. Build It.™ design service is an amazing tool to demonstrate and communicate your design options. You provide us with the installation specifications and, for a fee, we provide you with a virtual rendering of the completed installation. If you submit a digital photo of the installation site, we can place your completed installation image in the photo.

Try it before you buy it. Start with a basic railing system and then add decorative options. Change the configuration to replace every other baluster with a brass basket baluster. Change the paint color from Black to Dark Pewter. Add a dramatic panel to the center of the balcony rail. Replace the wood handrail on the Top Bar Panels with an embossed metal handrail.

Go ahead and dream it. Custom Iron can show it to you. Custom Iron can build it. Send us your dream today and ask for a quotation.

Steel and aluminum prices on the rise

Prices for raw material are increasing worldwide and this trend is expected to continue. We have already experienced price increases from our suppliers. As a response to the increased cost of materials, Custom Iron will be adjusting prices with care and attention to our customers’ concerns.
