Natural Wax, Clear Coat Finish Comparisons – For those of you who want the rugged natural beauty of the iron railings or balusters for your home, Custom Iron offers several options. Each of the choices gives you a distinct and different look.
Clear Coating is a hard and glossy clear finish available for panels, balusters, and newels. There are two grades of Clear Coat preparation before the clear coating is applied. Clear Coat 2 reveals “as fabricated” marks. Clear Coat 1 minimizes fabrication marks.
Natural Wax is the ultimate natural finish that celebrates the rugged beauty of metal. To create a Natural Wax finish, the piece is heated and the hot wax is brushed on by hand. The piece is then rubbed and buffed to a smooth matte finish. The Natural Wax finish is very durable and easily maintained.

Price Increase Required – The continued rise in energy costs and the effect on our raw material and operating costs unfortunately requires us to increase our prices. Our last increase was in June of 2004. Effective November 18, we will be implementing an overall price increase of 8%. Spiral freight prices will incur an additional freight/fuel surcharge of 22%.
